More Fall Transition

It's hard to think about buying jackets or even jeans right now since it's still hovering in the 102 degree range in Central California, but soon cooler weather will be upon us and fall shopping will commence for real. Here is a little bit of inspiration:

At Banana...

Love the belted sweater and wide leg jeans.

At Anthropologie...

Gladiator ballet flats, cropped cords, bright sweater...Cute, cute, cute!

The tights! Love this.

Forever 21...

Love the ruffled, high neck blouse. Classic.

At H&M...

This just makes me jealous of all of you living near an H&M. That belted top is adorable.

Old Navy...

How cute is the sweater fastened with a brooch?

The Gap...

This is a jacket that would be worn again and again.

Quite Possibly The Perfect Tee Shirt

The Labyrinthine Tee at Anthropologie is the perfect mix of comfort and style. Draped jersey folds will conceal any flaws, yet bolster the appearance of your, ahem, bosom. Cap sleeves and a scoop neck are classic and flattering. It comes in several colors and at under $50, it's an amazing deal by Anthro standards.

This Is Why I Love Anthropologie...

I don't know of any other place where one can go in to shop and come out with an amazing shirtdress...

Hardware for the vintage dresser that you're refinishing...

A cool yet quirky fedora with a patchwork flower applique...

And a $2300 chandelier that I would die to decorate a room around...

...all in one trip.

Not to mention that I want to move into the bedding display area. Or at least take a long nap on one of their puffy duvets while I wait for my girlfriends to finish browsing the sale area.

And, I still love this mirrored dresser.

Freethinker Shirtdress $268
Mother-of-Pearl Knob $14
Flora Fedora $48
Bird and Branch Decoupage Chandelier $2298

Perfect White Jeans

I have been wearing a pair of wide leg Jayne jeans from Paper Denim & Cloth almost to the exclusion of all others since last fall. I love them beyond all reason. The wash I have them in is a dark blue called Emma. Now I am coming across them in Shell White, a nice crisp white wash that is perfect for summer.

If you are looking for a pair of white jeans you can't go wrong with Jayne. The rise is nice and high, they are pretty fitted through the hip and thigh, ending in a wide (but not too wide) leg with a nice wide seam at the bottom. So flattering and so cute. Pair with wedges and a tank top for an easy summer uniform.

I've seen the Shell White's at Anthropologie, BlueFly, and Zappos in the $90 to $120 range.

While We're On The Subject

Mentioning Anthropologie reminds me to show you this.
I love this mirrored dresser so much that I want to marry it and have little baby mirrored dressers.

Not This Again

Lately I have been seeing some evidence of the reemergence of a disturbing trend that surfaces periodically: wearing socks with high heels. I noticed an ad for a high fashion designer in Vogue the other day, featuring high heels over a pair of super chunky knitted socks. Then, I opened my beloved Anthropologie catalogue yesterday and noticed at least two models wearing socks with high heels. We have to stop this now. Socks with high heels never, ever, never looks good on anyone. It does not translate from the runway to the real world. I hope this look does not trickle down to the mainstream. Socks belong under trousers or inside running shoes. If you are not wearing pants or workout clothes leave your socks in your drawer. Am I wrong? Feel free to chime in...
