Looking For Jeans?

If you are in the market for a new pair of jeans, check out ShopBop. Right now, if you buy any full price pair of jeans, they will throw in a Bop Basics scarf. Pretty cool deal!

The offer does not apply to capris, shorts, jackets, dresses and skirts. While supplies last, for orders within the US only.

ShopBop also has a coupon expiring tomorrow. Use BOPFORFALL to take $25 off of a $150 purchase. The more you spend the more you save. Good until August 27th at 11:59 pst.

Rolled Up Jeans: Yea or Nay?

There's been a spate of celebrities rolling up their jeans lately. I recently posted about Rachel Bilson's cuffed jeans and sandal booties, which I LOVED. And today's WWWD is all about the cuffs.

And while I also love Reese Witherspoon's casual look in these rolled up Current/Elliot boyfriend jeans (that I am coveting)...

...I cry foul at Katie Holmes new go-to look. 'Cause those aren't just rolled or cuffed, those are pegged. Anyone who lived through the '80's recognizes that fold over tight peg and wishes it would return to obscurity. Not to mention that they're not flattering on her. She's a petite woman, but these give the illusion of a lot of extra hip and thigh.

So while I'm loving rolled up jeans, I think pegging is taking it a bit too far.

For more opinion on Katie's look, read this hilarious post over at Mama Pop. She really says it all, I think.

Design Your Own Jeans!

At Indi Denim you can design your own jeans that are sewn for your specific measurements. You select the leg opening, rise, fit, material, wash, pocket style, and level of distressing; give the website your measurements, and the company creates a personal pattern for your body. You can even "brand" your own jeans with a monogram on the back pocket.

The styles and washes look really cute. And while they are just as expensive as designer jeans (starting at $135) you won't have to worry about tailoring or hem remounts, because the jeans are cut to your specifications.

I love this idea!

I want to create a pair of flap pocket flares and a pair of capri jeans that hit just above the ankle (I'm really tired of all these really short cropped jeans, they make my calves look weird).

They also do men's styles.

As soon as I can take of some of this troublesome 10 lbs that I've gained, I'll take some of my 7FAM money and put it toward some custom designed denim.

The Presidio trouser can be altered to your specifications at Indi.

Almost like magic, I happened to get an email today with the exact details of Audrina Patridge's yellow jeans (as discussed in a previous post). They are Karmel & Alden Danielle jeans. The Danielle is available in Jade, Electric Blue, White, and (of course) Audrina's Yellow. Check http://karmel-alden.com/NewSite/ for retailers.

Perfect White Jeans

I have been wearing a pair of wide leg Jayne jeans from Paper Denim & Cloth almost to the exclusion of all others since last fall. I love them beyond all reason. The wash I have them in is a dark blue called Emma. Now I am coming across them in Shell White, a nice crisp white wash that is perfect for summer.

If you are looking for a pair of white jeans you can't go wrong with Jayne. The rise is nice and high, they are pretty fitted through the hip and thigh, ending in a wide (but not too wide) leg with a nice wide seam at the bottom. So flattering and so cute. Pair with wedges and a tank top for an easy summer uniform.

I've seen the Shell White's at Anthropologie, BlueFly, and Zappos in the $90 to $120 range.

I'll Take Those Please

Lately I have been loving 7 For All Mankind jeans. Actually, this has come about since I gave birth to my second child and I regained my previous jeans size everywhere except my stomach. There I have developed a little roll that bulges out over the waistband of most jeans. I believe the scientific term for this condition is muffintoposis. The boot cut Seven's tend to run slightly big, so I can stay in my size 28 but not have too much extra bulge.

This morning I was perusing the newest arrivals at Revolve and noticed that the original boot cut Sevens now come in a higher waisted version. I began hyperventilating with happiness. The 8 inch rise will actually hold my stomach in even better. And the wash on them is very cute. As soon as I can scrape together the extra $184 plus tax I will zip up the freeway to Macy's and pick momma up a new pair of fat fighting jeans.

While I am on the subject of new 7FAM, I must show you these. They are the Sophie jean in a Zebra wash. It's not just me right? I love 7FAM but these are fairly hideous. If anyone other than the Pussycat Dolls plans on picking these up, I'd love to hear about it.
