Book Smart

In the past 24 hours I've come across two separate pieces of wall decor with a design featuring a stack of books. I figure the Universe is telling me something, and I thought I should listen.

I ended up at the Studio Nommo website in a very roundabout way, beginning with Kirtsy, then over to Black Eiffel, then on to Door Sixteen's flickr. This is actually wall paper designed for Studio Nommo by Tracy Kendall. I love it! I can think of so many places that I could add a stack of books as an accent. So quirky and smart.

Last night I was browing through the new Pottery Barn catalog and the one thing that really popped out at me (besides some pretty upholstered chairs and a really neat chandalier) is this stack of books drawing that has been printed onto a stretched canvas. It would make a statement in an office or living room, it's affordable and looks easy to hang. I probably wouldn't need the husby to get out his laser line and drill.

If the Universe wants to send any other book inspired art my way, I'm listening!

Pottery Barn Strikes Again

I was shopping on the Pottery Barn website for a gift when I came across this personalized wall transfer:

I love this, I am trying to think of where I could place something like this. Maybe my dining room that is half decorated. This would also make a great gift idea if you were very certain of the recipient's taste and desire for a decorative item like this. I can think of a couple of people I would be OK giving this to. Others, not so much.

The transfers cost $59 and are available in Red, Green and Black.

You're Killing Me Pottery Barn!

I was browsing through the new Pottery Barn Kids catalogue this morning and came across this insane bed that my Caroline would love. It is the Playhouse Loft Bed on page 28 of the Christmas 2007 Catalogue, or you can see it online here. It is basically a playhouse with a bed on top. It is incredibly cute, and would be a dream bed for most little girls. It can be yours for the low, low price of $1099.

If you are really in the market for a fantasy bed, you can always check out Posh Tots. They have bunk beds like this Fairy Tale model, which at $9500 makes the PB Kids bed look like a bargain. If you have never checked out Posh Tots you have to take a look, even if most of the products are out of your budget. It is chock full of gorgeous kids bedding, furniture and accessories.
